The race for the diamond pendant can go to Royal Dignitary over a whole host of challengers including Blue Java, Logsdail, Paraguay and Katiypour to name but a few. Dandy Nicholls is a past-master at laying one out for a special event, and with a low draw to help in stall six, Royal Dignitary can prove the answer under Katy Walsh. Ruby's sister has been earning rave reviews for her style of riding, mainly in bumpers, and she sits on York third Royal Dignitary for the first time. The six-year-old remains well treated despite winning twice this season, and as long as the track is not hit by more rain, can go close. Blue Java has the assistance of the lovely Francesca Cumani, and he too lines up in a bit of form, having scrambled home at Goodwood, while Logsdail hails from the in-form Gary Moore yard and is partnered by the trainer's daughter Hayley. Serena Brotherton travels down to ride Paraguay for Vicky High, and the former Mick Channon inmate will have his supporters as well. He could have done with a kinder draw, but the going should now be perfect for him. Katiypour has one of the most experienced ladies on board in Carol Bartley though, and is massively better off at the weights with Paraguay for a length beating at Epsom. Many in with chances then, but we return to Royal Dignitary as the pick.
