BAJAN TRYST is preferred to Fleeting Star and Reject. The selection started promisingly before losing his way but being gelded appears to have made a man of him as he bounced back to form on his first run since being cut. He was a shade fortunate to land the spoils at Ripon having squeezed out a rival in the closing stages; he's only 5lbs higher and could find the sufficient improvement. Fleeting Star is tried in a visor on just her fifth start and is worth considering now that the headgear has been applied. She was an expensive purchase as a juvenile and duly won her second start in decent style but things haven't really clicked this term. They may well do now that she's dropped to six with a visor. Reject was backed as though defeat was unthinkable ahead of his handicap bow at Leicester but taste defeat he did and he's on a recovery mission. He's better than that and the winner has won since to give the form some substance. White Shift is worth considering whilst there may be more to come from New Leyf and Rapid Water but we like the look of Bajan Tryst.
