Jennings: Best still to come

Leicester flanker Shane Jennings insists his best form is yet to come.

Leicester flanker Shane Jennings has been one of the major shining lights in the Tigers' strong start to the season, but he has warned that there is still plenty more to come.

The talented openside faces stiff competition for a first team birth from teammates Luke Abraham and Will Skinner, but Jennings is emerging as coach Pat Howard's number one choice.

The boots of the recently-retired Neil Back are nearly impossible to fill, but Jennings' form has already prompted comparisons to be drawn between the two.

However, the 24-year-old is refusing to get carried away, and he told the club website: "I'm still not massively happy with my game.

"I've achieved nothing here yet. I'm lucky that I've got a few games under the belt so far, but I've still got loads more to achieve at Leicester Tigers."

And the Irishman remained equally modest when questioned about his international prospects.

"I've been asked this question a lot! At the moment I'm not in favour, which I'm fully aware of, but my main priority is playing well for Tigers - the rest will take care of itself.

"Ireland selection is not in my control; playing well for Tigers is ."
