London side bring in duo of Russian World Cup stars

Wasps have signed Russia international forwards Vladislav Korshunov and Victor Gresev until the end of the season. Hooker Korshunov, 28, captained Russia at last year's World Cup, while number eight Gresev, 25, was his nation's player of the year in 2011. Korshunov has 57 caps for Russia, and the experienced front-row forward will provide cover for Rob Webber after he was included in the England elite player squad. Gresev was a star of Russia's qualification for the World Cup for the first time last year, and was man-of-the-match during their game against Australia. The St Petersburg-born number eight was included in the IRB's forwards of the tournament list for the World Cup alongside Thierry Dusautoir and Richie McCaw. London Wasps director of rugby Dai Young said of the duo, who will arrive at the club this weekend: "These are two players who impressed at the World Cup and they will add strength in depth to the squad for the rest of the season giving us options in key areas."
