Only the Best for Worcester

Bath full back Lee Best has agreed to join Worcester Warriors on a two-year deal.

Worcester Warriors have bolstered their squad for next season with the addition of Lee Best.

The Bath full back will join on a two-year deal, adding yet more versatility to the Warriors' back three.

Nicolas Le Roux, Thinus Delport and Aisea Havili have produced some splendid rugby during the current campaign, enabling the club to comfortably avoid any relegation battles.

Best's ability to perform at full back or on the wing - added to his experience (over 100 league appearances), makes him an enticing signature for the Sixways outfit.

"Lee is a quality player and we are delighted to have him with us. His great attacking skills and versatility will certainly add value to our team," said head coach Anthony Eddy.

Best commented: "I am thrilled to be joining Worcester Warriors. I was in talks with the club a couple of years ago and I am pleased to have been given another chance to sign for such a forward thinking side.

"It's an up and coming club with lots of ambition and that has been displayed in their new signings already this year."

Meanwhile, the Warriors have also extended James Brown's contract for a further two years, the club announced on Thursday.

Brown agreed to the new deal despite playing second fiddle to Shane Drahm for the majority of the current season, making only 10 appearances in total.

The 27-year-old joined the club back in 2002, and his new contract will ensure at least a six-year stay at Sixways.

Director of rugby John Brain strongly values his number two stand-off, who has made over 70 appearances for the Warriors.

"James has been and will continue to be, an important player for Worcester," commented the Worcester boss.
