Former All Blacks winger appointed as skills coach

The Blues have announced that former All Blacks winger Jeff Wilson has been promoted to their backroom staff for the forthcoming Super Rugby campaign. Wilson has been working with the Blues development side, as well as acting as assistant coach of North Harbour. However Wilson will now combine those two roles with that as skills coach for the Blues. Blues head coach Pat Lam told the club's official site: "We wanted someone to co-ordinate our skills programme. Jeff is a perfect fit for us - his reputation for high standards and values as a player and now a skills coach is superb, and he will fit well into our environment. "He's from within our franchise and considering his role with the Blues development side, this is a natural progression for him." Wilson is looking forward to teaming up with Lam and Woodward at the franchise in January.
