Gala Casino Star looks the one to beat here despite a 10lb rise in the ratings after a facile success earlier this month at Beverley. Despite a tardy start in that contest he went right away in the closing stages, however he might just have been flattered by the winning distance as his rivals were all fast ground performers. He is an improving sort though, a type his trainer does particularly well with and Freddy Tylicki continues to impress. American Art drops back to one mile here after been run out of it close home by Palmerin at Sandown. He could now be a touch high in the weights while Shaloo Diamond, who is the pace angle to the race, has shown his best form with an ease in the ground and could be vulnerable to one with a turn of foot in the closing stages. Premier Danseur, although finishing nearer last than first last time was not disgraced and this rates a drop back in class. On a direct line through the Karl Burke trained Ninefineirishmen, Premier Danseur has in fact got the beating of Gala Casino Star who has admittedly improved since then. Paint The Town Red landed an ordinary Great Leighs maiden last time but the second did break his maiden tag next time off 72. A decent little contest to open the card given its type and Gala Casino Star is given the vote.
