In depth

Verdict

The Nawab did not have the best of luck in the Chester Cup and, with more improvement to come, is worth another chance in a race where the opposition looks thin on the ground with the main dangers looking to come from Ski Jump and Darasim. The last mentioned returns to the level after a spell hurdling and has to be respected but the yard of Mark Johnston is still not firing on all cylinders so he may be best watched. Ten Carat has been well held in both starts this term, while Overstrand may want a softer surface as he had when a good second here at the Dante meeting. Tiyoun has a long absence to overcome and of more interest may be Richard Fahey's Ski Jump, who looks to be going the right way. John Dunlop's horses are improving with racing this season and The Nawab looks well worth another chance on the evidence of an unlucky run in the Chester Cup.
