Verdict
BRAZOS made a pleasing debut for the Clive Brittain team when a close second, although always held, by the more experienced previous winner, Fair Ranger, at Warwick. He had another previous winner back in third spot and showed a decent attitude before just succumbing to the Hannon charge and can go one better here. Bahamian C is obviously a leading contender after a really promising debut at this venue behind stablemate Rufford. He was apparently unfancied that day but it was a strong effort and he has to be on anyone's shortlist. Money for any of the newcomers would put a different complexion on matters, with The Grey Gatsby and The Grumpy Gnome making most appeal on paper.
