DZESMIN makes some each-way appeal ahead of the likes of Serious Impact and Rosbay. Kensington Oval was well touted last season but could be artificially short as a result given that he has disappointed twice since winning his maiden but he cannot be written off. Serious Impact was very impressive when winning his maiden and is a horse of some potential but this is a completely different ball game and it makes some sense to try and take him on. The booking of a talented apprentice for Rosbay takes the eye and he's entitled to come on for the run but he hasn't eased in the weights despite being an infrequent winner. King Fingal should stay this far and rates highly with the yard going well, Island Vista got the better of Duncan in a maiden but ran poorly on both subsequent starts and needs to return to her best whilst Spring Jim has course and distance form to his name and may have found the run coming too quickly when disappointing last time. Paul Hanagan will need to be at the top of his game if Dzesmin is to negate his high draw but it can be done and that should be factored into his price. He ran poorly when a beaten favourite on his reappearance but he may not have handled the surface at Southwell and should appreciate the return to grass. He never featured in last year's renewal but has run well over this course and distance and Dzesmin is a versatile sort who could fare better this time around.
