This looks like a good opportunity for Resplendent Cee, who has been running in better company, but drops back down in class and trip here. With underfoot conditions perfect and a good draw, the colt may well be good enough to get back to winning ways here. Chief opponent will probably be Affaire Royale. Drawn two and from the in-form James Fanshawe yard, the filly has also been tried in better company in the past and put in a good performance to finish second to Attache at Haydock last time. A similar effort is expected here. Another for the short list is Welcome Friend. Roger Charlton's five-year-old has is well drawn and another to be dropped in class for this contest. A course and distance winner on good to soft, he also goes on this ground and should be thereabouts. Others who cannot be discounted despite poor draws are Funny Valentine, the mount of Pat Eddery, and top weight Granny's Pet, who is as tough as they come.
