Salamanca ran better at Goodwood last time and has to be considered but preference is for the potential improver Taranto, who gets the vote ahead of another reappearing runner Chatila. A lack of a recent run need not be of concern for the selection as Godolphin's runners are in the form of their lives right now and, with plenty of improvement to come from the ex-Andre Fabre-trained filly, she looks worth chancing on her British debut. Chatila also has an absence to overcome and that is of more concern for her. Any lack of fitness in the selection should be exposed by Sir Michael Stoute's Grain of Truth, who looks to be going the right way. Dance Partner probably needs to improve, while Gower Song should appreciate the return to this faster surface. Summer's Eve is another to consider but Taranto could be different class to these and she gets the vote.
