A competitive handicap ends proceedings and it's OLD ROMNEY who gets the selection ahead of Annabelle's Charm and Agilete. The selection has been a consistent sort on the Polytrack of late where he has been the runner up in his last four races and was the beaten favourite last time. The gelding was a winner when he last raced on turf so a return to the surface should suit and connections consider him capable of adding to his last win. His usual hold up tactics should see off the rest. The seven-year-old Agilete is in superb form of late and the gelding is clearly at the top of his game, landing three of his last four outings on the all-weather. He has not raced on the turf for almost two years though and this is a cause for concern but, if current form can be transferred to the turf, then he will be thereabouts. Luca Cumani's Annabelle's Charm was a winner at Lingfield back in January and while the bare form is worth little, she should be capable of making her mark in handicap-company. Hucking Hero stands out among the rest but he is a little inconsistent over this trip so may be best watched. The rest will need to improve if they are to be of any concern to our selection Old Romney.
