Verdict

Climate Precedent usually runs his race in these low-grade handicaps and should be there or thereabouts, although his yard could do with a winner or two. He does seem more or less where the handicapper wants him, but merits a place on the shortlist. Perfect Gentleman is 2-4 on the all-weather this year but his two defeats have been pretty comprehensive too and it's hard to be confident about him. The likes of Congruent and Panning For Gold have disappointed to date, although it's still early days for both, but EASTERN CHARM (NAP) was much improved on handicap bow to score over course and distance after not showing too much as a juvenile. She may well have a few pounds still to play with and should be able to back up that success off a very workable mark of 60.
