      Verdict

      ALICE ROSE was placed on her first two starts but showed marked improvement when runner-up at Doncaster last time on her first run over today's trip. She's just preferred to My Sharona, whose latest second on soft ground over 6f here suggested she too will appreciate the extra furlong. Tidal's Baby has something to find with the latter on latest running and his earlier efforts on a faster surface don't boost confidence, while Red Hot Penny and Cheviot Quest have yet to show any worthwhile form.
