Simondium is preferred to Mizen Raven. The selection represents a powerful combination and could find the necessary improvement in first time blinkers to open his account over hurdles. A ten furlong winner on debut for Amanda Perrett, he has lost his way a little since then and has returned a beaten favourite on both starts over hurdles. So, once again, he may not be one for the mortgage but this race looks less competitive and should be his for the taking. Mizen Raven left his debut form behind to make the frame at Towcester and should be suited by the less exacting demands of this venue; similar improvement again could see him go close. Black Anshan didn't show a great deal in three starts in Ireland but is worth a market check as is Nautical Approach who was relatively short in the market on his sole start in an Irish bumper. What A Fox has shown ability in bumpers, Orphina is better than she showed last time and Travelling Fox has also hinted at ability. This could turn out to be more competitive than at first glance but Simondium is the one to beat.
