Mick Channon's all-weather runners continue in good heart and William Tell can finally get off the mark at the expense of Red Sam and Forgery. Officially rated in the mid-70s, it is fair to say that William Tell has had plenty of opportunities but it is for punters to decide here if there is anything better than that on view. Red Sam has to be respected on debut for Michael Bell. Owner Terry Warner is not shy of a tilt at the ring if he fancies his chances and on breeding, the trip should be no problem. The well-bred Forgery could be a more obvious danger. Third in a soft-ground maiden at Yarmouth, there looked to be plenty more to come and Darryll Holland catches the eye in the plate. The draw has done front-running Nanton few favours while Valiant Act was staying on well in a seven-furlong event at Warwick and could improve for the step up in trip. There are likely to be a few winners coming out of this race and William Tell looks the most obvious to us on this occasion.
