In depth

Verdict

A tentative vote of confidence is given to Good Article, whose last two efforts have indicated that he may have enough in reserve to see off Diamond Dan and Fiore di Bosco, who appeal as others to place on the shortlist. Fiore di Bosco ended a spell in doldrums when winning here last month. The likes of Ballere and Spy Gun (run earlier on the card) will give a good indication towards his chances and a careful eye should be focused on the betting where he is concerned. Diamond Dan also comes here on a high after a game success in a similar contest 28 days ago. He will be a force to be reckoned with if putting in a similar effort and is worth considering as a saver option if the prices permit. However, Good Article has really found his racing shoes of late and looks to have been found an ideal opening to squeeze through if all goes to plan for him in the finale.
