Verdict

This looks a good opportunity for BARBARIAN who is taken to get the better of Cool Hand Jake and Punch Drunk. Barry Hills has got his string in decent form and although this colt disappointed at Sandown last time, he had previously been in really good form and he could be worth another chance. Cool Hand Luke disappointed on the turf last time but the form of his Kempton maiden win worked out well and the yard are in very good form. Punch Drunk ran well on his all-weather debut here last month and he might have finished closer had he not met trouble in running. If he can build on that then he could be of interest. Golden Flight appears to be going the right way on the evidence of his most recent effort at Catterick when he finished fourth behind Global. That was his handicap debut and although more will be required to win this, it would not be a surprise to see him thereabouts at the finish. However, Barbarian has plenty of ability and he is taken to get back on track.
