Rodeo has claims on form but lack of a run since April has to be of concern for the Barry Hills-trained colt and preference is for Montpellier, who gets the vote ahead of Aryaamm. Admittedly the selection was very disappointing at Newmarket last time but Ed Dunlop's colt looks well worth another chance judged by previous efforts and a reproduction of his best may well suffice in this company. John Gosden's Sessile has shown some promise in his two starts, while Danski probably needs to improve on the balance of what he has shown so far. It is difficult to weigh up the merits of Walter Swinburn's two newcomers Grand Silence and Pagano but the yard's runners invariably need their first outing so a bigger threat may come from the Michael Jarvis-trained Aryaamm, who showed promise on her debut here over a mile and should improve for the longer trip. Montpellier has solid claims on the pick of his form though and he gets the vote in the hope that he can reproduce it here.
