Several of these have scope for considerable improvement, most notably Barkis who wasn't unduly punished behind one of John Gosden's on his debut at Yarmouth, and Admiralty. Ismail Mohammed's colt has his first run on Turf but has been showing up nicely on the Polytrack. Pearl War side-stepped a maiden at Newmarket on Saturday to run here and is almost certainly a lot better than she showed at Lingfield in October while Andrew Balding's newcomer Vivacious Way is a half-sister to several winners and will enhance her paddock value if she can manage a win somewhere this year. CAYUGA was still very green when fourth on his reappearance at Pontefract and may need further in time but he could still come out on top in this if ridden close to the pace.
