Monsieur Chevalier was a smart two-year-old and is not without a chance if retaining his ability on his belated return to action. Richard Hughes takes the ride, but it's doubtful he could do the weight on stablemate LIBRANNO anyway and the three-year-old gets the vote. He won the Group 2 July Stakes before following up in the Richmond at Goodwood last summer and may get the better of the older horses here after a close-up fourth at Ascot last month. Triple Aspect won this last year and had Monsieur Joe behind at Meydan back in March, while Bated Breath is worth another try at this level having won nicely at Haydock last time. Tropical Treat won a Listed event at Ayr last June and is another to consider in a highly competitive renewal.
