behind, pushed along 4f out, never a factor
tracked leader, driven to lead over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, rallied towards finish
chased leaders, pushed along 3f out, weakened approaching final furlong
took keen hold in touch, driven along over 2f out, soon beaten
in touch, driven along over 2f out, plugged on one pace final furlong
took keen hold, held up, pushed along and struggling final 3f
led, ridden and headed over 1f out, no extra final furlong
held up in 6th and off the pace, driven along and struggling final 3f
always behind
Another very competitive handicap, in which any could find the winner's enclosure, but we'll go with Henry Candy's Shanzu, in preference to Liberally and Zulu Princess. The selection defied the odds to win a similar contest here last month; among those she beat was Oat Cuisine, a tasty winner at Newmarket on Friday night. She's carrying top weight, and expect her to be prominently ridden by Ryan Moore. Zulu Princess, for local trainer Stan Moore, is chasing a double too, having been successful in a similar race at Chepstow last time out. And Liberally is worthy of closer inspection, following a big each way price second at Haydock. She certainly looks the improving type. But in a race in which there are plenty of chances, we'll side with Shanzu.
Shanzu 12-1 (8-11) Prominent, led after 2f, headed 4f out, disputed lead final furlong, narrow lead close home, won at Windsor 1m fll hcp (5) gf in Jun beating Onenightinlisbon (9-0) by a shd, 13 ran.
