Some interesting newcomers in this opener including Averticus and Pretty Miss and Sacre Coeur and we will take a chance on the first named. Barry Hills quite often introduces a decent juvenile at this venue and Averticus certainly looks the part on paper. He is by Averti out of a St Jovite mare, so there is plenty of speed in the pedigree. The betting will of course provide vital clues but as long as he doesn't drift too badly he could be the one to be on. Pretty Miss has the same sire as the selection and hails from another yard that is capable of getting one ready first time up. Meanwhile Sacre Coeur is trained by John Dunlop and is one of the most expensive purchases in the race. The best of the experienced runners could be The Jay Factor, but we believe this may fall to a newcomer and Averticus is the choice.
