A typically competitive Showcase event with a number of in-form and potentially well handicapped rivals in opposition. Silver Mascot has been in excellent heart of late and followed a Southwell maiden victory by finishing runner-up in a tough heat at Kempton but is 2lb higher and a low draw may count against him here. Similar comments apply to Shove Ha'Penny and Capital Access who also come in to the race in good heart following their exploits on the all-weather of late. In The Green is just 3lb higher than when successful in a Musselburgh nursery last season but may need the outing while A One ran a fair race in a minor event at Warwick on his comeback but he is more exposed than most and this looks tougher. Narrow preference is for Blue Knight who lost his maiden certificate at Wolverhampton last month before shaping promisingly on his handicap bow over seven furlongs on the turf track at Southwell earlier in the month. The son of Bluebird made good headway from the rear to hold every chance at the distance but could find no extra inside the last and finished third. A lightly raced type who is open to further improvement this shorter trip should suit and a bold run is anticipated off the same mark.
