MARIGOLDS WAY is the selection in this opener with Young Tot and Le Toto put forward as the alternatives. Ron Hodges' charge does seem to appreciate fast ground and while his performance last time out was a tad disappointing, there are no issues in relation to today's shorter trip. Young Tot is hardly the most spectacular of conveyances. The handicapper has given him plenty of help by dropping him almost a stone within the course of the last year. Le Toto may have needed the run last time out. He needs to prove he stays the trip though does act upon the surface. Quatre Huit has been disappointing so may be best avoided at present. Evan Williams had a couple of winners over the weekend so Ace High Blue is worthy of respect in the market. He did not show a great deal during his time in Ireland but his handler is something of a past master of delivering improvement from others' cast offs. Mansolias exhibited improvement for the application of blinkers and the assessor sought to raise him 6lb for that last effort. A race that won't take a lot of winning and Marigolds Way appears to have more will to win than most of his rivals.
