Vicente is edging closer to a first success, only finding one too good at Taunton last month. But TIQRIS would surely have won at Newbury at the start of the month had he not been brought down two out when still in second gear. He races off the same mark here and compensation awaits. Course and distance winner Alder Mairi, who has the beating of Old Tricks on the form book, didn't run badly off her new mark at Chepstow last time and should be in the shake-up but Gold Ingot has only run once since last May and was well beaten in that. Falcon Island has been woefully out of sorts.
