An open contest, although many an eye will be drawn to Blue Shark who now seeks a four-timer off his upgraded mark of 94, 18lb higher than when landing the first of his hat-trick at Ffos Las in November. He's an obvious contender and it will be fascinating to see if the assessor has got his measure yet. However, SAMATIAN is preferred in receipt of half a stone, despite failing to back up a handicap success in the late autumn. His four subsequent runs have all been commendable and the Sageburg gelding only succumbed by half a length last time over a similar trip and ground to that he faces here. Euchan Falls is definitely one to consider if repeating a much-improved runner-up effort at Ayr last time, with the nicely-treated Economic Editor and the reliable Joie De Vivre are also noted.
