In depth

Verdict

Despite the numbers, this is still a competitive race and while Market Rasen winner Vert Espere has been a model of consistency, he has been absent for several months and faces a stiff task in this grade. Exstoto was runner-up over this course and distance last month but is hardly the most consistent of performers, while Mister McGoldrick has been contesting some hot events lately and will appreciate this drop in class, but is almost cerainly better with some cut in the ground. Mirjan bounced back to form at Ayr's Scootish National meeting, when he beat Loop The Loup by two and a quarter lengths. This quirky individual is useful on his day and on a fair mark, but we think the latter can reverse the form and win here. Loop The Loup had been off the track for some time prior to that Ayr race, and reopposes here on four pounds better terms. Still lightly race over hurdles, Mary Reveley's charge looks sure to go well for Paddy Aspell.
