Paul Cole is doing really well with his juveniles this season and Velvet Band has solid claims after two decent efforts but it is hard to get away from AALSMEEN, who gets the vote to gain a deserved success with Deal rated the main danger. The selection made a pleasing debut when a close third behind Eternal Instinct at Haydock before finding just Misheer too good in a Listed race at York last month and a reproduction of that form may well suffice. Totally Invisible looks the clear second best of Ed McMahon's two runners and of more interest may be Sir Mark Prescott's newcomer Virginia Hall, although the daughter of Medicean may do better over further than the minimum. William Haggas has his team in good form so his runner, Excellent Thought, has to be considered on her debut. Richard Hannon's Deal improved from her first start to her second and has to be considered but Ed McMahon's Aalsmeen has an obvious chance and is hard to oppose.
