In the opener it might pay to keep an eye on the betting but, without that - and maybe with it - we are happy to side with Secret Night ahead of Adeje Park. Secret Night cost 26,000 guineas and is likeably bred and, with her stable in decent nick, she looks set to attract attention in what is probably not a strong juvenile event. As such she gets the vote, although Adeje Park's fifth to Flashy Wings, who is also trained by Channon, at Newmarket on her debut reads solidly enough and she must be respected. The most eyecatching of the others would appear to be Blue Jeans and Brenda Meova, while Halcyon Lodge should improve on her course and distance debut, but she will need to. Overall, then, unless the betting tells a very different story, we will side with Secret Night.
