Ali Star Bert did well over fences last season, winning here and at Chepstow. He’s been rested since pulled up over hurdles in June but soft ground would be a slight concern. Gibberwell didn’t beat much at Hexham in April and has had a break while Frontier General’s form in Ireland was inconsistent. However, it’s too soon to give up on Safe Destination and FULGURANT has been showing signs of life this year. The top weight has had a few runs in points and makes his chasing debut in a lowly grade. Kap Chidley is having his third run over fences but still has some scope.
