Tribal Dancer is taken to give weight away to Fisherman Jack, with Dun Locha Castle, Never Awol and Murphy's Magic just a few more worth a mention at least. There are no less than six course-and-distance winners in opposition here, but we prefer the claims of Tribal Dancer. The Venetia Williams-trained 12-year-old has only appeared here twice in his long career, both times over hurdles, but has gained all of his wins, including his three over fences, on right-handed tracks, and has shown enough this season to suggest that his turn is near. His last victory at Ludlow in May 2004 came off a mark of 108, so he is very well treated indeed these days off 93, and will be fancied to get recent losses back after finishing a close fourth at Ludlow when trying to give weight to the three in front of him. Fisherman Jack nestles right on 10 stone and is another that has been showing enough to merit consideration. The former hunter-chaser ran out of steam when beaten by Lord Olympia over further at Fontwell last month and has every chance of reaching the frame at least. Dun Locha Castle does not win too often and is one-paced but is sure to be staying on up the stiff hill, while Never Awol is a course specialist, all of his three wins having been gained here, but he is a shade too high in the weights at present. Murphy's Magic is slowly but surely getting his jumping together but is best watched, and we return to Tribal Dancer as the answer to a trappy event
