Mobasher gets the nod in this novices' hurdle, with Red Ruffles, Cedar and Brigadier du Bois among others to consider. The selection is four-time Irish Flat winner who scored nicely on his hurdling debut for Venetia Williams. Admittedly, he was disappointing at Newbury next time, even if allowing for the fact that he met trouble in running. This is probably more his level though and we'll give him a chance to redeem his reputation. Turning to the others, Brigadier du Bois showed promise in France before arriving in the UK and showed some promise at Haydock last time, although he was fitted with first-time blinkers on that occasion, which are left off today. Cedar showed promise on his hurdling debut behind Mounsey Castle and this shorter trip might show him in a better light. Glengarra also showed promise at Haydock last time, and possibly did not quite get home after pulling hard. He's back in trip today - although this is a stiff track - and will hopefully have learned to be more tractable. On The Verge made hard work of winning a very modest Fakenham bumper last time, but Red Ruffles defied his market odds to narrowly land a Newbury bumper on his racecourse debut. He should go well. Jonjo O'Neill runs Saratov, who showed promise on the Flat but has yet to follow that up for his new trainer in a couple of starts over timber. Glass Note showed some ability on the Flat in Ireland but has not really progressed over jumps so far. It would appear that this is not a particularly strong race, so watch the betting market for clues, but, that aside, we are happy to stick with Mobasher.
