BEACON EDGE, narrowly beaten by Honeysuckle in the Hattons Grace at Fairyhouse a year ago, couldn't quite get to grips with Lifetime Ambition on his chasing debut over 2m3f at Down Royal. The third came out and won a Grade 2 on Sunday so Noel Meade's charge can go one better. Pertemps Hurdle runner-up The Bosses Oscar has had two attempts over fences and been slightly disappointing and there are some interesting chasing newcomers taking him on. Winning point-to-pointer and dual hurdles winner Gabbys Cross and his former stablemate Sean Hogan, a winner over timber here in March, look certain to do well in this sphere as does Stratum. The latter, six-times a winner on the Flat, including at Royal Ascot, and three-times over hurdles, arrives in top form having won easily over timber here last month.
