Minella Lodge and Oscar Jo look the two to concentrate on here and preference is for Oscar Jo. Successful on his last visit to this isle, the selection returns for a moderate contest over the bigger obstacles. He has the look of a fairly treated aniomal (joint best-in at the weights in this classified race) and with stamina seemingly a strongpoint, he should go well. Minella Lodge won well at Leicester and has claims if repeating the run, although his other tries at the trip have ended in disaster. Brave Jo is fairly consistent but has a bit to to find at the weights, whilst On Y Va tries the blinkers and tongue ties combo for the first time. Dillay Brook is consistent if somewhat unspectacular, whilst Lansdowne Princess has been woeful of late in better races than this and has been given a chance here although stamina is not assured. Not a race that will live long in the memory and narrow preference is for Oscar Jo.
