Lieutenant Gruber wasn’t exactly impressive when getting of the mark at Bangor but he may have needed that run and there is scope for improvement. However, his yard is going through a quiet spell and, at the likely odds, COMANCHE CHIEFTAIN makes similar appeal. Neil King’s charge defied a big weight in a handicap at Ffos Las last month and his rider’s 10lb claim is a massive plus. Spring Bok has his first run for Richard Newland but won on the Flat in France in the autumn and is worth a market check.
