Collodi wins more than his fair share and has only gone up 3lb for his latest success at Market Rasen. Lovato hasn’t raced in more than a year but fitness is rarely an issue for one from his yard and he’s respected. Cape Caster is fit from the Flat but running over hurdles for the first time in more than two years and will probably be back chasing in the near future. It took a while for BEACH BREAK (NAP) to get the hang of jumping but he was always travelling best in a maiden at Cartmel in July and was even more impressive in a handicap at Bangor last month. He’s been hit with an 8lb rise but could be improving fast enough to shrug off the extra.

Lovato (GER) 3-1 (11-2) Raced wide, in touch, mistake and chased leaders after 3rd, pushed along and fell 2 out, at Perth 2m hcp (2) sft in Aug.
Cape Caster (IRE) 11-2 (9-10) Held up in mid-division, headway over 3f out, went 4th over 1f out, stayed on, not trouble leaders, 4th of 8, 3 1/4l behind Long John Silver (9-6) at Ffos Las 2m hcp (4) gf in Jul.
Collodi (GER) 7-2 (11-11) Led until before 2nd, led again 4th, jumped left 4 out, hit next, soon challenged, driven when jumped badly left last, kept on well under pressure, won at Market Rasen 2m 1f hcp (4) gd in Jul beating Red Ochre (11-10) by 3/4l, 7 ran.
