        Verdict

        Smart Ass can complete a hat-trick at the expense of Orpen Wide, Boundless Prospect and Jordan's Light. This looks fairly competitive, but we shall take a chance that Smart Ass is up to the task with William Buick able to utilise his 7lb claim. Stan Moore's filly has gained back-to-back victories over the course-and-distance twice already this month, and although creeping up the weights as a result, may just just defy the handicapper again as she appears to be a tough, resilient sort based on latest evidence. Orpen Wide has won two of his last five starts and has form on the Fibresand as well, so is taken to give the selection most to do. Boundless Prospect and Jordan's Light are yet another pair that normally go well round here, so neither can be totally left out of calculations either, but there is no getting away from the fact that Smart Ass is running hot at present, and she is therefore the one to beat.
