With the yard in cracking form we'll take DIAMOND BLADE to land the opener, while The Name Is Frank should again be very competitive from today's mark. The selection hails from the in-form Tim Easterby yard and was last seen winning a fast ground Redcar handicap over this trip in September, for which he has gone up just 2lbs. His one previous try here on the Fibresand resulted in a good performance in defeat, so we know he handles the surface, and we will side with him. The Name Is Frank has won two of his 26 starts and is a consistent performer, having made the frame on nine other occasions. His current mark of 58 is as high as you would want him if you are thinking of a wager, but he should be very competitive from it provided he handles the surface. Dickie Le Davoir is better on turf than in his sphere, but he does have course and distance winning form to his name and is respected nonetheless. The assessor looks to have had the measure of Sleepy Blue Ocean after the Oasis Dream colt won a Haydock maiden in June, though this change of surface and further 3lb drop might elicit some more promise. Danum Dancer has twice won from substantially higher marks on turf, where he handles good to soft, although the jury is still out on his ability on this particular surface. Course winner Outer Hebrides is on a decent mark in the context of recent achievements and looks to have clear frame claims, but preference is for Diamond Blade.
