Quicks The Word gets a narrow vote over Frank's Quest, Zap Attack and Commitment Lecture to name but three. The first of eight races on the card has a competitive look about it, with many in with chances. Quick's The Word has had the misfortune to find one too good on no less than three out of his last four starts and deserves a change of luck here. Chris Thornton's charge, whose only previous win came on fast ground at Nottingham in August last year, has performed much better of late since being stepped up in trip, and is on a favourable mark compared these days. Frank's Quest was successful over the course and distance in May and ran well on his last outing at Lingfield, finishing third despite coming wide into the straight. He should run well along with Zap Attack who showed his first worthwhile form when third on his fibresand debut recently. If Commitment Lecture shows the kind of battling qualities that saw her land a fillies' handicap at Haydock in April, then she too would enter calculations, but in a wide-open contest, we return to Quick's The Word as our idea of the winner
