Monte Cristo, who is better known as a chaser, has done little wrong of late on the Polytrack and, in the hope that he can reproduce a similar level of form on this surface, is taken to complete a hat-trick at the main expense of J R Stevenson and Macaroni Gold. The last mentioned has no problem with the trip or the track but is probably a shade high in the weights at present and may be best watched on his first start for Declan Daly having left the care of Willie Jarvis. Amir Zaman has won over two miles but his better form is over shorter, while Sun Hill has given little cause for optimism of late. Saffron Fox is gradually coming down the handicap and has to be respected along with Peak Park, who has a good record here and is only 1lb higher than when scoring over course and distance in March. Reminiscent has claims on the pick of his form, while J R Stevenson is fairly treated and should go on the surface but there are doubts concerning his ability to stay this trip. There are no such problems with Monte Cristo though and Emma Lavelle's gelding is taken to score again.
