        Verdict

        The handicap won by Rita s Boy at Nottingham eight days ago is a good guide to this race as well as the first division. SNOW CLOUD finished third in that ahead of Sir Billy Wright, Borough Boy and Appleberry. David O Meara s sprinter would have got closer but for being hampered and, racing off the same mark here, looks the one to beat if handling the switch to Fibresand. Red Stripes and Samhain have to be respected as both have already won on the surface. So has Crosse Fire but the bottom weight may find a few of these too good while Flying Bear appears to have lost his way.
