      Verdict

      Smokey won over track and trip a fortnight ago with Qaaraat back in third and should be in the mix once again. But the latter was also beaten by DUKE OF FIRENZE here earlier and David Griffiths’ veteran returns to this venue only 2lb higher having raced at Newcastle on a couple of subsequent occasions. Both Samovar and Scale Force have won at the track this year with the former preferred off his current mark while better is expected from Moonraker back on the Fibresand having won here four times in the past.
