        In depth

        Verdict

        A weak contest can go to House Arrest with the exposed Mr Chocolate Drop and Peppin's Gold looking best of the rest. The selection is one of the more consistent horses in the race and has a lot of experience in these contests. Whilst the record of no wins in 14 races is worrying, this won't take much winning so she has leading claims, despite her wide draw. Peppin's Gold has shown a degree of promise however he is so unreliable that he cannot be truly fancied, whilst Ten Black would have claims if reproducing his form of last autumn. Mr Chocolate Drop is certainly no world-beater however he wasn't beaten far on his first venture into selling company so must have claims, however we will tentatively return to House Arrest to small stakes as our nomination.
