Port St Charles was a brave second last time out after winning in Class D company earlier last month. However, he looked as if he was in the handicapper's grip on his last run and he may struggled to concede weight all around, despite his jockey's 5lb claim. He won well over course and distance last time out and although he was penalised for that victory, he is still well-weighted on his best form of last season. He could go well at a fair price with the draw in his favour, if he is fully wound-up for this his season bow. Grandma Lily is a former inmate of the Sir Mark Prescott yard. However, the filly has shown improved form for a change of stable and she was a good third last time out. But she always stays on strongly at the end of her races and although she has won over the trip, she may be seen to better effect over a longer distance. On The Trail won a seller here in December, but has since struggled in handicap company. The remainder are out of form and need to improve significantly the trouble the judge.
