It's over two years since LIKE MAGIC won a race but this represents his best chance for some time as he has been running well enough behind the likes of Miss Eze and Collingwood in handicaps to suggest a claimer is within his capabilities. Gandolfini will like the conditions and he's another taking a drop in grade after some fair efforts including when scoring over the C&D earlier this month. Del Mar looked a promising type when runner-up on her final start last season but has shown very little this term while Little Bug's best efforts have been on faster going over further. Badger Or Bust is a regular in these races and is another who may prefer a longer trip.
