In depth

Verdict

After chasing home a subsequent winner on her first run for Harry Whittington at Huntingdon, JUNIPER (NAP) didn’t perform to expectations on a return visit. However, she did have excuses and she should be too good for these if recapturing her best form. Tonyx has ability but is refusing to settle and hasn’t been getting home as a consequence while Whispering Gypsy was pulled up at Catterick on her hurdles bow having earlier won a bumper at Lingfield. Cailin Dearg, another Irish import, has also won a bumper but will need to take a big step forward on her hurdles form to date to figure.
