The ability to see out the trip will be the major factor on this sort of ground and the field can quickly be whittled down to just a handful judged on what they have shown over the distance so far. Red Minster makes very limited appeal on inspection of his form and is easy to pass over. Flinders Chase and Glanamana are also given a wide berth for similar reasons. River Slave and Secret Drinker also have a few questions to answer and are also probably best watched. Which leaves Kentford Fern, Tallow Bay and Agincourt as the short-list-selections. The last-named is suited to a speed tracks such as Ludlow and is a candidate to make the running, which could set things up for Kentford Fern, who will relish every yard today and can make her proven stamina count in the closing stages.
