In depth

Verdict

Theatro looked a thorough stayer when a close third over this trip at Haydock in September and was going on at the finish when dropped to 1m4f at Pontefract on Wednesday. Alan King has made a brilliant start to the campaign and BLAME IT ON SALLY, three-times a winner for Sir Mark Prescott including twice over 2m, can continue the stable's excellent run. Be Fair has won three minor handicaps over 1m4f on Polytrack and should stay the trip while Young Merlin has a course and distance victory to his credit. Singing The Blues looks a real threat as he was placed over this trip in a Class 2 handicap at Bath in September. He'll have found 1m4f too short at Kempton earlier this month and should give the selection a good run.
